As a program author, you can lock or unlock any element on a template. A dealer who orders from your shared template edits the unlocked elements before ordering. Locked elements stay fixed. This keeps your brand and legal content protected, and still lets each dealer adapt the piece to their market.
Lock or unlock an element
Open the template in the editor.
Select any element: an image, a logo, a shape, text, handwriting, or a QR code.
Use the padlock on the canvas menu. Closed means locked. Open means unlocked.
Every element starts locked. Unlock only the elements a dealer may change. When you finish, submit and approve the template as usual. The locks publish with the approved design.
What a dealer sees
When a dealer orders from your shared template, the Configure step shows a live preview. The dealer edits the unlocked elements right there: move, resize, restyle, or change the text. Locked elements do not respond, and cannot be moved, resized, or deleted.
The dealer's edits save onto the dealer's own order. Your shared template never changes, and no other dealer's order changes.
Brand fields still work
A locked element that maps a brand field still prints the dealer's own value. The dealer fills that value in the Configure form, as before.
Good to know
If you lock every element, the dealer flow stays field-only, exactly as before.
You can change the locks later. Edit the template, change the padlocks, and re-approve. New dealer orders take the new locks; existing orders keep theirs.
